Well done to the County Council Desk to 5k group who took part in this race. Some journey in 10 weeks.
ReplyDeleteThe quality of the field in some of these club races leaves a lot to be desired. Just 4 men under 19 minutes! No women under 20 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThis was a 5km FUN RUN in aid of a local primary school, to raise funds for sports activities. It was NOT a club race. Majority of particants were school kids and families with the ethos of 'FUN' being to the fore.

ReplyDeleteWho cares if there were only 4 men under 19 mins. It was a fun run fundraiser for a school. To a lot of people in the race it was their 1st 5k and a huge achievement to do it. We'll done to all.

ReplyDeleteI think it was a great day, and a great success for all involved. Thoroughly enjoyed. I would suggest though that maybe starting the children 15 mins later than adults might be an idea as i was afraid they would fall in the rush at start.
