  1. Jerry is amazing - an inspiration to all and always smiling! We missed his "beep beep" on Sunday at the Carmel Lynch Memorial Race.

  2. What a great interview you gave, Gerry. So funny in places, yet so human and dignified. I always admired you at the races around Cork, but you are gone up even more in my estimation after reading the interview.
Keep it up Gerry, you keep the rest of us going.

  3. As someone who is some-what long in the tooth, I am new to running.

I've been to a good few rqaces that Jerry raced too and he's such a Gentleman.
He always has a word for everyone who wishes him good luck along the route, even when he's under-pressure going up-hill.

He truely is an inspiration to all that no matter what challanges life throws at you, anything is posssible when you haveb the right attitude.

    Well done JF.

  5. The words "hero" & "legend" are often bandied about too much. However, I can state with certainty that both apply accurately to Gerry Forde. And he's a thorough gentleman too. I've rarely ran a local race that I didn't meet Gerry, from the 5 mile to the marathon, Gerry is always involved with a greeting & smile for his fellow competitors. The applause for Gerry from fellow athletes as he starts a few moments before others is well deserved & meant from the heart of all. What a man!
