Somone left a comment under another post asking the following question....
Hi John,
My 14 year old daughter and a few of her friends are interested in trying out athletics. Which clubs in Cork are good for youth training?
Thanks!
So I thought it might be a good idea to put up a post about this particular subject. I know that Belgooly AC and Leevale AC train juvenille runners at the CIT track. Ages I guess would range from about 8 to about 16?
Belgooly AC.........CIT Track in Bishopstown......Tuesday & Thursday @7pm
Leevale AC...........CIT Track in Bishopstown......Tuesday @8pm
Are there other clubs around Cork training juvenille runners. Leave a comment or send me a mail and I'll add your club details to the list.

Wish they would start a running club in glanmire. The number of runners around the place the last few weeks is madness!
ReplyDeletei wish there was a athletic club in cobh alot of people including myself out there. heard there is one for kids but none for the oldies
ReplyDeleteregarding the running in Glanmire comment??? Any idea John which ac club runners from the Glanmire area generally vere towards?
ReplyDeleteRay.
Glanmire....if an adult runner wanted to join a club then I think it would probably be like that they would join one of the city clubs like Eagle AC or St.Finbarrs. An alternative might be to join Midleton AC in East Cork which isn't that far away and is easy to get to.
ReplyDeleteLiscarroll Athletic Club in North West of County Cork caters for all ages from 7yrs of age and all other older categories. Training Tuesday in Liscarroll GAA Grounds and on Friday's St. Joseph's Track Bakers Road Charleville. New Members welcome at any time.
