Banteer has a proud history in Athletics with it being the birthplace of two-time Olympic Gold Medallist Dr. Pat O’Callaghan. We would like to continue this rich tradition by providing a quality road race."

Banteer is located about 20kms to the west of the town of Mallow in N Cork. It's just 1km south of the N72 Killarney to Mallow road.

The distance from Cork City is about 54 minutes and it's probably quicker to go via the main N20 road to Mallow and then take the N72 west. The alternative R579 route via Cloghroe and up over the hills to Nad might be shorter but it has a lot of twists and turns.

Banteer is also centrally located for any runners in Kerry or S Limerick.
