It probably didn't help that the date chosen for the race was the Thursday before the Cork City marathon.
I can't help thinking that a few years ago, a race like this would have been timed manually by the Ballycotton Running Promotions crew for nothing. The expense of chip timing and all that entails for just 123 runners seems a bit crazy.

Very poorly advertised , I live in Cloyne and didn't know it was on.
ReplyDeleteGreat event. Granted the numbers were small but there was a wonderful atmosphere and the downpour just after the start made things interesting.

I'd have to agree it was a very poorly advertised race. Also having it so close to the Cork City marathon would put alot of people off. A different time of year and a bit of advertising and I'm sure they would get big numbers.
