The Churchtown South 5 mile road race was the third race in the popular Ballycotton Summer Series and used to attract of field of 500 or so runners on the third Thursday of July every year.
It was a two lap course taking in small, narrow and quiet country roads which was probably some of its appeal.
When it was last held in 2017, the roads were in a pretty bad state and it looks as if they're got worse in the last four years.
