  1. Great running but it begs the question should these events have gone ahead as Frankfurt was cancelled and if they are safe perhaps Dublin can run off the 2021 edition in March?

    1. This along with the half marathon a few weeks ago were designated test events to see if it was possible to hold large events like this without large spikes in Covid.
I ran the half. To collect your race number you had to present a vacination cert, proof of recovery or take a test on the day at the race centre. Only runners were allowed into the exhibition area. Mask wearing was strictly enforced at the expo and before and after the race.
I can't debate the right/wrong of holding it only that it was very well controlled and demonstrated that with good organisation and supportaive participants it is possible to hold large events.
The Berlin course also helps with the large park to hold the crowd bedore and after. In comparioan Frankfurt doesn't really have that space.

    3. I have ran Berlin marathon too, and have to say - brilliant, and kudos to organizers and all organizations involved! They showed that it can be done, and proved again that use of antigen testing and PCR testing can be easily used to help opening up economy! Not like Government here! It's time to wake up, and be more proactive to allow big events go ahead! Well done Berlin and Germany! DCM could learn a lot there too - simple thing like moving start & finish of DCM into Phoenix park - would possibly enable event to go ahead!

  2. Yes they had everything in order in Berlin. Ran very well. Stations aplenty. Volunteers on right part of course. Dub & Fra unfortunate not to get gaffs in order.
