As you can see from the photo above, the first woman home was Sonia O'Sullivan, a World Champion and Olympic Silver medalist for the 5000m.
What many of you may not know is that the first man home is a record holder in his own right. Brian Linehan holds the record for the fastest time for cycling from Cork to Dublin back in 1994, well before the motorway network was built. His time... 6 hours and 16 minutes from the GPO in Cork to the GPO in Dublin. Video HERE

Brilliant to see Sonia O'Sullivan at this morning's Glen River Parkrun. Those of us who were there can say that we ran with an Olympian!
