Notice: Rebel Run 10k & 5k in Cork City - Sun 20th Oct 2019

This 10 km & 5km road race is coming up in Bishopstown on Sunday, the 20th of October 2019 at 9:30am.

Rebel Run Update from the organisers....


We are delighted to announce that the 8th annual Cork Rebel Run for 2019 has SOLD OUT with over 1100 participants registered to take part.

All participants registered will over the next few days receive their Rebel Run Information Pack. Please familiarize yourself with the details contained in this ahead of Sunday. A few main things to highlight:

Sign-In takes place in the CIT Sports Stand (Red Brick Building by the Athletics Track)
Friday Oct 18th 5pm - 7pm
Saturday Oct 19th 12pm - 2pm
Sunday Oct 20th 8am - 9am

At sign in you will receive:
Event number and timing chip
Souvenir T-Shirt
Rebel Run Goody Bag

The event has SOLD OUT and we are currently not accepting any more registrations. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Category prizes only for 10k event. Spot prizes will be awarded to 5k participants randomly once results are in.
Both events finish on the CIT Athletics Track.
The Rebel Run 1 Mile Challenge event in association with Down Syndrome Cork (DSC) and Boston Scientific will start @ 9.15am, and participants will complete the final mile of the both 5&10k routes.
The water stop for the 10k participants is at the 5K mark by the DSC Field of Dreams Facility on Clash Road.

The organising committee of Cork Sports Partnership, LeisureWorld Bishopstown and Cork Institute of Technology - CIT would like to acknowledge our sponsors Cork City Council, Cork County Council and Boston Scientific Cork for their support this year for both our Rebel Run and Run a Mile Challenge events.

This is going to be of interest to a lot of people for a number of reasons.....
1) There aren't that many 10k races really on the calendar. Loads of 5k and 5 mile races but fast 10k courses are a bit thin on the ground.
2) It's in Bishopstown in Cork City so it is central to a lot of people.
3) Dry-fit top included in the early entry fee for both the 5k and 10k.

The 5k course starts with the 10k, takes in the walkway riverside behind CIT and finishes on the track as well. Approx 5k course HERE

** Cork Rebel Run & Rebel Run A Mile Challenge Launches for 2019 **

The Annual Cork Rebel Run 5k & 10k was launched in Cork Institute of Technology recently.

Now in its 8th year the event will take place on Sunday, 20th of October. The organising committee of Cork Sports Partnership​, LeisureWorld Bishopstown and Cork Institute of Technology - CIT welcome both Cork City Council and Cork County Council​ as sponsors once again for 2019.

We are delighted to have Boston Scientific as sponsors of the Rebel Run A Mile Challenge which will be taking place again this year following another successful event in 2018. This programme encourages participants & staff from adult disability services across Cork City & County to increase their fitness through a 4 week walking & jogging programme culminating in a 1 mile challenge event in CIT on Friday, 18th Oct.
