Early Nike Running shoes sell for over $400,000 in auction

At a recent auction at Sotherby's in New York, a 1972 pair of Nike running shows sold for $437,500.

These 'Moon Shoes' as they were known were designed by Nike co-founder and track coach Bill Bowerman for runners at the 1972 Olympics trials.

The shoes were bought by a Canadian investor for his own private museum in Toronto.
