Huge turnout for Waterford Half-Marathon as Cork runner Lizzie Lee takes title
There was a huge turn out of 2338 runners for this years Waterford Half-Marathon. This is a hugely popular race amongst club runners looking for a fast half-marathon at the end of the year.
Following up on her win at the national marathon in Dublin and the recent Stook 10 mile in Kilkenny, Lizzie Lee from Cork took the title in a time of 1h 18m 46s. Looking through the results, there was a big contingent of runners from Cork there also.

Very well organised race at a goid price with good spread afterwards but not a course for a fast time since they changed the course a few years back.
ReplyDeleteAgreed ha thought it was just be that didn't agree with fast course description but very good organised race great weather and lovely hat green and white next year lads
ReplyDeleteI don't know I found the course very fair. Last year they had 8 under 68 minutes. Comparing that to Charleville which I think most would consider a fast if not thee fastest course only had 1, 7 this year. Waterford didn't seem to get the same field this year presumably with it being so close to the European cross country and Dublin.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough course but fair.mile 10 is savage
ReplyDeleteHats off to Waterford AC. So well organised and big thank you to the 2hr pacers, very kind and helpful individuals giving up their time and energy.
