Results of the Grant Thornton 5k in Cork City - Wed 13th June 2018

The Grant Thornton Corporate 5k was held in Cork City on Wed 13th June with 784 finishers, down a bit on last year. With an entry fee of €120 for a team of four, this commercial race certainly wasn't cheap with an average cost of €9.68 per mile.

  1. Strange that this clashed with the BHAA race. Why is this popular with the cost of it, or is it just because companies pay? Maybe it's the free t-shirt!

  2. I suspect that a lot of companies pay for the entry fee. It's hard to imagine too many employees coming up with €120 between four of them to enter a 5k.

  3. Is it a commercially run event or does money go to charity?

  5. It's a joke of a race, no prizes for coming in the top 3!!!

  6. Principle here is to run as part of a team . Get over it top 3 is always going to be a minority . Great event all proceeds as I understand going to charity .

  7. 'Get over it top 3 is always going to be a minority' - Are you serious? Of course its a minority, its the top level, that's why there should be prizes.
