Irish results in the 2018 Rome Marathon...



Another big event last weekend last was the Rome Marathon which was held on Sunday the 8th of April. The number of Irish runners in this one was pretty low which was probably due to the fact it was clashing with the Rotterdam marathon and it is well known as a slower course with cobblestone roads in sections.

Suprisingly, only one Irish man broke 3 hours and that was Pat O'Connor of Eagle AC in Cork. Pat was also the 3rd M50 home which is some going considering the number of Italian M50's who would have been running in their home marathon.

Another suprise was that only one Irish woman broke 4 hours! Most Irish runners seemed to have opted for the flat roads of Rotterdam last weekend.
