In a recent study, it was shown that doing three brisk 10-minute walks a day resulted in higher fitness levels than trying to do 10,000 steps a day with a fitness tracker.
Many people are using fitness trackers with devices costing in the region of €50 to €200. People try to get to a certain amount of daily steps in an effort to get fit.
A recent study though said that three brisk walks per day took less time to do and produced better results.

You'd have to think the activity trackers craze is a positive thing seeing as it has helped people to become more aware of their own daily activity, or lack of. It might make them more conscious of the need to keep it a regular thing. This might in turn give them positive results and a better sense of well being therefor encourage them to maybe push themselves to do some more.
