East Ferry 5 Mile Road Race,
ReplyDeleteShannonvale 10 Km Road Race.
East Ferry 5 mile was really enjoyable excelle scenic course. The timing should be changed this year as it comes straight after Cork Marathon. For me Shanagarry 5 was the jewel in the crown of the Ballycotton series. Will be missed.

ReplyDeleteThe best 5 miler was the one where a generous lady invited you in for tea & biscuits as you trundled up the hill afterwards AND the one where a family put out cups of water which you thirstily grabbed as you rushed past the second time round AND the one where on a sunny evening you'ld warm up in the gaa pitch up the road from the start and see everyone throwing shapes before the battle ahead AND the one where if you survived the final uphill mile long drag, after the finish you'ld head for the van to collect that well earned plaque... yes theBallycotton Series, we won't see it's like again,
