Nominations for the best 5 mile and 10k race in Cork in 2017???

Now that we're into 2018, it's time to look back and consider what were the best races of 2017? In this post, we'll look at the best 5 mile and 10km races. In your opinion, what were the best 5 mile and 10km races in Cork in 2017 and why?

There were a wide number of races to choose from, be it BHAA, club or charity events.

  4. East Ferry 5 mile was really enjoyable excelle scenic course. The timing should be changed this year as it comes straight after Cork Marathon. For me Shanagarry 5 was the jewel in the crown of the Ballycotton series. Will be missed.

  11. East Ferry 5ml was my favourite 5ml of the year. Fabulous scenic route, plenty of parking. Well marshalled & a good spread afterwards with good prizes.

    Lovely course, good challenge. Get to run through the town. Great stewarding. Good changing facilities and post race grub and prizes.

The best 5 miler was the one where a generous lady invited you in for tea & biscuits as you trundled up the hill afterwards AND the one where a family put out cups of water which you thirstily grabbed as you rushed past the second time round AND the one where on a sunny evening you'ld warm up in the gaa pitch up the road from the start and see everyone throwing shapes before the battle ahead AND the one where if you survived the final uphill mile long drag, after the finish you'ld head for the van to collect that well earned plaque... yes theBallycotton Series, we won't see it's like again,

    Millstreet 5 mile was a great race also
    Both races offered lots of category prizes

  23. Millstreet 5 mile offers a nice warm up in area in park beside start . nice down hill start with a strong finish and for me last year a kind lady gave me water on a warm evening as i was going up the hill at the end !!!!
    bweeing 10 k was great really good course very fair great community effort and even better baking after. what more would you want !!!!

  24. Millstreet 5mile great athmosphere & nice course.
    Bweeng 10k although the hill finish was a bit of a struggle but when u see the cakes & buns afterwards all the pain is forgotten!!
