Very few stewards this week out on the course, some volunteers have removed names from roster after last week
ReplyDeleteCan you explain what your comment is referring to? I am very involved with the volunteering at this parkrun, including as run director. VHI, one of our sponsors, were on site last week and as a result our numbers increased by more than 100 for last week's event. As far as we were concerned the event went off smoothly. The number of stewards were down this week as a number of regular volunteers were unable to attend due to other committments. Week after week more than 20 people give of their time to keep the parkrun going - without them the parkrun would not take place. Can you tell me what happened last week for you to assume that some volunteers removed their names from the roster?
ReplyDeleteI do volunteer in Ballincollig parkrun regulary. This week no stewards as you ran around soccer pitches or over by river at weir.
ReplyDeleteYes week before vhi left without thanking volunteers. All Goodie bags given out but forgot about the volunteers.
