Results & Photos of the Cork BHAA Pfizers 6 mile road race...Wed 10th May 2017

The Cork BHAA Pfizers 6 mile road race was held on Wednesday the 10th of May 2017 with a total of 402 runners crossing the finish line. That's represents a 13% jump on last years numbers and is the second highest ever for the event.

If you follow the results of local races in Cork, you'll see that a lot of races are struggling to maintain their numbers. For a 6 mile race to get such good numbers is something special, especially when you consider that the distance is too far for a lot of the Couch to 5k runners out there.

  1. Think this is the oldest bhaa race in Cork.Wonder is there a list of previous winners, and how times compare with present runners?Would be interesting

  2. My recollection is of seeing Brian Meade cross the finish line in 1988 in just under 30 minutes. And if that wasn't fast enough, he actually slowed to a walk for the last few steps! That's the fastest I can remember. We are trying to root out as many historical results as possible and hopefully will get them up on the BHAA website in time.

  3. There was some good times back in the day, think Noel Berkley or Martin McCarthy has the fastest time sub 30 i think.Mark Bickerdike ran around 30.20.Also think Sean Harte went pretty quickly as well, bound to be more good times as well.Great if bhaa could dig out results from 80,s and 90,s
