This year, the Munster Road Championships were held in Currow, Co.Kerry and there was a reasonable turnout with club runners from several clubs taking part. In the men's race, there were 77 while there were 67 in the women's race.
Some of the clubs from Cork like Mallow AC, St.Finbarr's AC, Leevale AC and East Cork AC featured in the medals.

No times for masters and novices all over the place. Will these be changed?
ReplyDeletealso novice athlete placed 3rd overall actually won the Novice title in 2015. Check the results history for 2015 on Munster athletics website. Also some club runners missing from senior results.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't good enough surely its time to go with chip timing for a championship race.
Its also bad PR for the sport when local radio stations cant be given results after the event because there all wrong.
Surely the money Munster athletics will get from the Great Limerick Run should be spent on making sure that the issues on Sunday won't happen again.
ReplyDeletewhat a complete mess-up of the results! there's people in wrong categories and no times for the men
ReplyDeleteApart from the mess with the results on the day - the results as they now stand are an even worse mess. Too many errors and omissions to list. A pure mess. The results should be taken down again. Munster Athletics need to change something drastically to avoid a recurrence of this in the future.
ReplyDeleteWhy are people shocked about the mess up in the results it's nothing new....it happens every couple of years....just shows that Munster athletics doesn't learn from its mistakes
ReplyDeleteGlad I didn't race this now.
ReplyDeleteAgreed the results should be taken down until all clubs have emailed the Munster board with there objections and when they are finally corrected, then and only then should the results be online.
ReplyDeleteLook at the quality of this race..... current national champions outside the top 10. Yet if it wasnt for this blog and regular athletic sites this would go unseen.why not put this in a large town and show it off similar to the county roads? To say people wonder why athletics is suffering......
ReplyDeleteIt's a joke
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the likes of Michael Herlihy back mixing it up with the best in Munster
