A great race and superbly organised. My favourite race of the year. however only having two places in the age category results (and only one place/prize from over 55 onwards) is a little strange for such a large race. It wouldn't cost much to recognise three places in all age groups.
ReplyDeletethere wouldn't be races in cork who would be lucky to attract a 1000 runners. thats some number from cork
ReplyDeleteGreat day out. Putting the timing machines at so many mile splits and at the 10k split was a lovely addition. It was nice to know at all times where you stood as against the gun time. Punctuality of race start time was also a huge plus.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS RUN!! Great Location. Great Volunteers. Quality Running Top. Brilliant pacers.Superbly Organised. Great spread afterwards. Only downside was the bloody roadworks in Killeagh.
ReplyDeleteI very much enjoyed this race. It is one of my favourites now after doing 2 of them. The weather was great. The support was fantastic and the spread afterwards fab and no delays giving out the goody bags this year unlike the delays in traffic at Killeagh lol. The organization was fantastic. Well done to everyone involved .thank you for good memories a warm welcome and a pb for me .Happy out Tee shirt is great too!
ReplyDeleteGreat race guys and well done all, especially the 85 min pacers, two funny lads, entertained everyone going around and so encouraging.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant event again this year. Hats off to WWAC. My 3rd time doing it and it always lives up to the high standard it has set over the years. Will be back.
ReplyDeleteGreat weather, great course, great organisation and great grub afterwards.
ReplyDeleteWell done to all involved.
Great day. Just one thing soured my experience a little, and it was nothing to do with the race. Around the turn, running with the river, a runner in front of me who was about 5 feet from a bin, hurled a water bottle as hard as he could over the ditch and into the river. This was no slip or mistake, he was aiming for it. What is wrong with people that they have so little respect for the race organisers, volunteers and the locale that they would do this? Not the first time I've seen it happen either.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all involved in the excellent organization. A friendly well-supported run. Superb tee shirts! Including water and banana in goody bag is very efficient and minimizes hassle at the end of the run. Only gripe - it would have helped if we had been warned about the traffic delay in Killeagh. That caused some stress in getting to Dungarvan from Cork. Category prizes for men O/65 and 0/70 but not for women?
