Inaugural 24 hour race held in Kerry on Sat 24th Sept 2016

The very first 24 hour endurance race in Co.Kerry was held on Saturday the 24th of September. This is as far as I know the only 24 hour race in the country outside of the annual Irish Championships in Belfast.

The course was in a local park in Tralee with runners doing multiple laps of a 0.75 mile loop. There were 3 events...the full 24 hour race which went from noon Saturday to noon on Sunday, a 12 hour race which went from noon to midnight and a 'shorter' 6 hour race which went from noon to 6pm.
In total, there were 63 participants spread out over the three events... 41 in the 24 hour, 14 in the 12 hour and 10 in the 6 hour. Ten runners managed to break the 100 mile barrier in the 24 hour.
