Adidas to end IAAF sponsorship deal worth €33 million

The BBC have just announced that Adidas, the IAAF's biggest sponsor, will end their sponsorship deal four years early. This is estimated to cost the World's athletics governing body something in the region of €32 million.

For one of the world's major sport wear companies to do this just before the Olympics speaks volumes about the current state of international athletics. This is of course due to corruption which went to the highest level of the IAAF and a failure to deal with the doping problems that have been going on for years.

  1. This is a great move, other major sponsors will hopefully follow suit.At last someone taking a stand against the cheats.Unfortunately most people are not going to take the Olympics seriously anymore, the damage is done, credibility out the window, even if someone wins clean they will still be tarnished, sad but true.
