Notice...Clonpriest 5k road race, Gortroe, Youghal - Thurs 30th April 2015

With Ballintotis out of the way, the evening races are now really coming fast and furious. The Clonpriest 5k is coming up on Thursday the 30th of April with a 7:30pm start. Just like the Ballintotis 4m, this race is a community effort to raise funds for the local school and is very well organised.



Gortroe is a small village near Youghal in East Cork and is only 1km from the N25 Cork-Waterford road...

It's very easy to get to and should attract a large number of runners. The turn off for Gortroe is 1.2 kms from the Youghal Bypass....

More info from the organisers...
a) The purpose of this event is to raise funds for books, teaching aids and sports kit for the local national school.
b) This race is organised and run with the help of Atheltics Ireland, Youghal AC and a small army of volunteers.
c) With Chip Timing this year, the results will be available immediately after the race.
d) Fast, flat & accurate 5k course-your chance to get a 5k PB for 2015.
e) Registration can be done online or on the night.
f) Registration will take place in the school from 5pm until 7.15 pm (6.15pm for walkers)
g) Preregistered runners: race numbers and timing chips will be available for collection at the school until 7:15pm
h) Toilets,changing and bag drop will also be available in the school building.
i) Runners event starts at 7:30pm. Walkers route starts immediately outside the school at 6:30.
j) A rewarding spread of sandwiches, cakes, teas and coffees await you at the hall immediately afterwards.
k) Tons of Spot Prizes Too!!!
l) Race Entrants must be over 18. Everyone welcome to walk but children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
m) No iPods/MP3s
n) No dogs allowed on the walk or the run.

    Children are free in the walk, but they must be supervised by an adult. All children that complete the walk will be given a medal.
