Photos of the Carrigaline Christmas 5k & 10k fun run...Sat 27th Dec 2014
This fun run took place on the walkway between Carrigaline and Crosshaven on Saturday 27th Dec 2014. I'm not if there will be any results for this one. Last week, the organisers Carrigaline Road Runners AC said this...."This event was originally planned to be a chip timed event but unfortunately chip timing is now not possible due to circumstances beyond our control. The top 3 finishers in each category will be timed and there will be placings for all participants. We will also have a clock at the finishing line. "

And the club still charged money....having a laugh?
ReplyDeleteSounds very shody with all the great races on the Calender at Christmas i'm surprised this keeps going
ReplyDeleteIn all respect that really was quite a ridiculous comment. Please remember it was fun run. I t was well supported and
ReplyDeleteraised some money for a local charity and...also the 50 young kids who ran had a great time !
It was a nice run to be fair and it was lovely that the kids got a run around and that money went to charity. Could have still have given each participant a time like in recent other fun/ charity runs in Blarney and kilworth.
Deleteany update on when results will be published?
ReplyDeleteGreat atmosphere and support at the end even for the last few runners.
ReplyDeleteMaybe just reduce the price a little but it was well organized and a lovely route.
It was advertised as a fun run and that's exactly what it was. Well done to the all involved. Started on time, a clock at the end, water at the half way mark for the 10 k runners and at the end of the race.
I'll be there again next year.
This was a good event. An enjoyable fun run in a lovely location. Well organised/marshalled, water, clock at the finish etc, something for all the family. I hope they raised some good money for charity and I will be back again next year.
ReplyDeleteWhatever about the chip timimg, for this kind of a run its not at all neccessary, im happier to see the €2 or so per runner going to a good cause instead of a timing company.
Very Enjoyable day. Agree chip timers not necessary for fun run (keep price down)- great to have 2 km for kids.
ReplyDeleteComment on Price - should be one price for kids whether they did 2 k , or 5k race.
The second place in the ladies 5k was Dace McCarthy, not Dave. Could ye change this please? Enjoyed the race. Was there prizes given out for the ladies 5k as i missed the awards?
