Last Friday, the 2,300 online entries sold out in a matter of an hour or two. Today, the postal entry form is available to download......HERE
Note that there are only 200 places available for non-club entries. Also note that a number of people who sent SAE's should have their forms already and are probably already in the post. See below.
Postal procedure:
1) A PDF copy of the entry form will be published on the website on Monday December 8th (forms will also be available in John Buckley Sports, Tri n Run in Midleton and Ger Wyley Sports, Dungarvan, the same day). Also, those who have sent in stamped addressed envelopes will have the forms posted out on Friday December 5th. The first 200 non-club entries to arrive by post will be added to the above number, giving a total of 2,500.
2) After that, only AAI club members and those who ran the four races in the Ballycotton Summer Series 2014 will be accepted (by post) up until Friday December 19th and for those living overseas up until Tuesday January 6th.
3) As usual, a limited number of elite entries will be available nearer the date.
Notes...
a) Don't send the full entry form, just the strip on the right with your details.
b) Don't staple the cheque to the entry form.
c) You can enclose several entries in one envelope.
d) Don't forget to sign it. As you can see, no number transfers are allowed.
Update from the organisers.....As a number of AAI affiliated clubs were missing from the drop-down box on the online system, any runners unable to input their affiliated club name online are asked to send club name to: obrienlm@eircom.net (this address is only for this purpose).
Also, to remind people once again that we don’t have a waiting list, there is no transferring of numbers and no refunds.
The list of successful online entrants will be published on the website early next week. The complete list will then appear after the postal entries have closed in early January.
Just printed off my form and noticed that is says it is open to all over 16. There is a stipulation on the AAI permit application that says athletes must be 18 or over to compete in races 10,000m or longer. Wonder is it a typo or is Ballycotton not a permitted event?
ReplyDeleteThe Ballycotton 10 race has an AAI permit.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the 16 is just a typo
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know of a bus going from Cork (or even from Dublin!) to Ballycotton for the race?
ReplyDeleteIn the past, the organisers have put on a bus to take runners from the train station to Ballycotton. I think it might depend on numbers though. Your best bet is to contact the organisers some time in early February for the latest info.
