Great event yesterday and congratulations to Leevale senior teams and all who took part.
ReplyDeletePity to see only 6 clubs (4 city clubs and 2 clubs outside the city) fielding complete teams for such an important event in the county.
I think its only important to the elite runners in cork, majority of runners prefer road races like bhaa events because maybe its a more relaxed enviornment. There never was very big numbers in county seniors as far as i can remember.
ReplyDeleteRe; anonymous and elite runners; I have done just a few and am just an ordinary club runner. I imagine the thought of running in muddy wet fields puts many off and probably for even, more it just doestnt occur to them. I cant say the AAI make much effort to encourage runners to try the event out so maybe it is elitist in that fashion.
ReplyDeleteIt is a tougher event than road running and it is different in ways from hill running.
