Results of the Cork AAI Senior Cross Country Championships...Sun 2nd Nov 2014

The Cork AAI Senior Cross Country Championships were held near Riverstick on Sunday the 2nd of November. The fields in the senior race were small enough but LeevaleAC were very much to the fore taking both the mens and womens team titles.

  1. Great event yesterday and congratulations to Leevale senior teams and all who took part.
    Pity to see only 6 clubs (4 city clubs and 2 clubs outside the city) fielding complete teams for such an important event in the county.

  2. I think its only important to the elite runners in cork, majority of runners prefer road races like bhaa events because maybe its a more relaxed enviornment. There never was very big numbers in county seniors as far as i can remember.

  3. Re; anonymous and elite runners; I have done just a few and am just an ordinary club runner. I imagine the thought of running in muddy wet fields puts many off and probably for even,more it just doestnt occur to them. I cant say the AAI make much effort to encourage runners to try the event out so maybe it is elitist in that fashion.
    It is a tougher event than road running and it is different in ways from hill running.
