ReplyDeleteFirst time doing this race, one word 'BRILLIANT' fair play to a very passionate club for putting on a great race, heard the course was changed so as 1st timer cant compare but i loved this route, [great preview by the way] few pulls and a sting in the tail near end. As i say brilliant. Mid pack runner
ReplyDeleteThe race video is outstanding, well done to those who put it together. As per the last four years, Galtee Runners pulled out all the stops again this year, great weather, great stewarding, and the set-up at the CBS School was very good, with excellent refreshments.
ReplyDeleteI would say, being an average 8min-miler, that i felt the new route was a hell of a lot tougher than the normal route. That climb, past the water station lasted about a mile, and was very tough.
Definetely no course for a PB.
If there was a voting preference, i would much prefer the old route, rather than last nights route.
Well done again to Galtee Runners.
Does every course need to be a pb course? a bit of variety in races is want we want as runners, taught the galtee 8k route was great, will know next year how much to keep in tank for climb at end, and its not that tough when uv great support cheering ya on, id say fair play to the people of mitchelstown for getting behind this race, see ye nxt year and keep this years course. ReplyDeleteFirst time doing this race. The organisation was excellent, the route was great and all 5 of us who did the race thought it was a superb experience. Well done to all involved.
ReplyDeleteGreat organisation, great race. A challenging course, pretty flat at the start with some interesting climbs and the last mile was difficult at the end of the race. Definetly a race to mark down on the calendar for next year. Well done to Galtee Runners!
