Results of the Cill na Martra GAA 5k fun run...Wed 20th Aug 2014
121 took part in this 5k run in Cill na Martra near Macroom. Results HERE
Good course for fast times to be proud to call a proper pb to. Well laid out and accurate kilometer markers. Came home with 3.14 miles on the watch unlike other "short" 5k's.
For a first time event, this was very organised right down to separate male and female changing areas with loads of hot water in the showers. The organisers had everything in hand and the locals were really friendly and appreciated those who travelled long distance to get there. A nice course over flowing terrain, with this kind of organisation and the amount of prizes on offer, it can only go from strength to strength. Worthy of consideration of Cork 5k of the Year for 2014.
Well organised race. Good facilities, plenty of food and great community involvement. Look forward to next year.
