A total of 307 runners turned out for this years Clonpriest 5k road race in East Cork, a jump of 20% on last years numbers. With the thermometer up around the mid-20's, it was probably the warmest conditions there have been for a race so far this year.

Note from the organisers.....Tonight we had another fantastic Clonpriest 5k. We really appreciate your support especially in the heat, temperatures reached 24.9c during the run!We would like to thank everyone for helping to make tonight a success, all the runners and walkers, the stewards, catering team, sponsors, land owner, teachers and parents. We hope everyone enjoyed the evening and once again thank you.

  1. Great community spirit around the village for the race, fitting minutes silence at the start line for the recent tragic farm accident. great to see the local nursing home residents and staff out supporting everyone along with all the impromptu water stations along the course. A welcome mist shower at the finish. Super spread afterwards in the sunshine. The cash prizes were too generous for a fundraising race. Well done to all involved.

  2. This is an excellent race, would agree wholeheartedly with the previous comment. Great to see all the schoolkids out helping and giving out water at the finish. These races are what it's all about, fantastic atmosphere and nice to support such a good cause. Will be back next year.
