This was a challenging enough 2 lap course, with very long straight sections plus it wasn't particularly flat. Enjoyed the run, especially Ned Roche's pub :). Well organised, lovely cup of tea afterwards, hats off to Grange fermoy ac. I'll be back next year
ReplyDeleteThe route for this race is challenging. The apres race was great, warm tea was really welcome because it was really cold. The food was really really nice. An enjoyable Friday evening, I too will be back.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable course made tougher on the night by running into the very strong breeze on the downhill sections. Fabulous spread aterwards as well. Well done Grange Fermoy. Looking forward to next year.
ReplyDeleteWell done Fermoy-Grange AC. Really enjoyable evening up at the army camp. Lovely quiet roads, stiff challenging course, especially with the strong headwinds, but a great race nonetheless. And a real treat afterwards at Ned Roches pub - the after race refreshments were excellent and the pub was really quaint and a throwback to 40 years ago.
ReplyDeleteJust 1 thought - the weather was bloody freezing, and it was a dark cold evening. Any chance the organisers will consider moving the race back to its original date in the middle of July ? I'd much rather run on a warm pleasant evening than in artic conditions.
I will be back in 2015.
Sure it probably will be as wet in July as May. Wear more layers!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks very much to all the runners who took part in our 5 mile road race. We were delighted with the number of runners. Indeed the weather turned out nasty towards the end and was a bit cold alright but to reply to your comment Johnny G, we changed from July to May as first of all a lot of our runners, helpers are away at that time and we thought May would be a perfect time as it is the beginning of the evening races and the start of the Ballyhoura series. Last year the weather the night of our race was 26 C! and the year before it was bad also, so in Ireland even in July you can't really predict. Thanks for all your comments. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Great to see feedback from the organisers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to reply.
See you there next year for sure.
And keep the post-race refreshments at Ned Roches - it was really quaint and different there.
Any sign of photos from the race?
