The Willie Neenan Memorial 10k road race is coming up in the town of Millstreet in NW Cork on Friday, the 5th of July at 7:30pm. This is a brand new race on the calendar and the 2nd race of 7 in the Ballyhoura Cork Road Race Series.
It's been a good few years since there was a road race in Millstreet so this is a welcome addition to the calendar. Considering it's location, it should be of interest to runners in both Cork and Kerry.
The 10k course starts just to the west of Millstreet...runs back through the town itself....completes a loop to the north-east before coming back and finishing in the centre of the town.
You can pre-enter for this race HERE, fee €10. You can also enter on the night for €15. Race HQ is the GAA community hall which is directly across from the church at the western end of the town.
Organised by Millstreet AC, the course has been accurately measured by Jones Counter and has an Athletics Ireland licence. More info closer to the date.
As a runner from a neighbouring club I know that this is an event deserving of peoples support as this small club is redeveloping in the area. Since this is an area steeped in athletics history and dedicated to a legend of the sport, it is definitely not one to be missed as an event itself.
ReplyDeleteHi,is this race on in the morning or tomorrow evening? It says 7.30 am on the ad on side of page but 7.30 pm on the poster.
