Keith Whyte sets new Irish 100k record in Belgium

On Saturday the 22nd of June, Keith Whyte of Ennis Track Club in Co.Clare set a new Irish record for the 100 km Ultra-Marathon. Taking part in the Night of Flanders 100 km race in the North of Belgium, Keith finished in a time of 7h 03m 53s, beating the old record of 7h 05m 06s which was set by Thomas Maguire in Seoul, South Korea in October 2006.

Just to give you some idea of how fast that is, it's an average of 6:49 per mile for just over 62 miles!
