  1. Lovely run but boy did they find the West Cork hills :-)

  2. Lovely scenery for this race but maybe in future it would be better to categorise this as a mountain race rather than a road race.

  3. Anyone know if there's pictures around, I'm fairly sure the marshall was taking pictures where the 11k and 10 mile rejoined.
Very good race though nice and testing!

Seems to be some results mixed up
I ran the 10 mile event but my result is in the 11k result other than that good challenging run nice views, friendly atmosphere.

  5. Very challenging hilly course, a real test of endurance! Worthwhile after, great cause. Post race refreshments a bonus. Lots of water stops but would prefer to see water bottles than the big paper cups(not complaining just my opinion). Surprised to see people "selling" energy drinks near the finish line for €2. Might have been better to split the 10 mile & 11k runners and start at separate times, must have been confusing for lead runners until the turn off point ??

  6. I ended up doing the 10 mile instead of the 11k. There should have being clearer signs for those of us who are half blind, other than that I enjoyed it but a very tough run for sure!

  7. I wasn't expecting those hills! Tough but satisfying to finish. Finish disorganised - a much needed drink of water had to be fought for - it was not clear where it was available. When I found the source of water, I was rudely jostled by some kids who had done the walk and were trying to grab sandwiches.

  8. Thanks to all who were involved in the organisation of the race.
A tough race but very rewarding once completed.
Lovely countryside and enjoyed the run. Hope to be back next year.

  9. Fantastic race, amazing scenery, the most enjoyable race I've done by far. It was my first 10 mile race (ever) and I found the course good (though I was lucky enough to have a terrific running partner with me). Good cause too.

Am amazed at the low turnout, especially given the record turnouts at other races this year? It could be that people are warned off by others saying it was hilly, though I'd imagine Cobh is much worse. One runner I spoke to said it was the best of all the Cork 10 milers.

Maybe the organisers need only offer a mug -like Ballycotton? We did get (nice) medals which was great, but no T-Shirts?

The amount of food on offer was very limited (the organisers should attend a few races to get an idea of what the norm is) but the hospitality was great.

The organisers should have the refreshments in the GAA hall if they can as there was limited shelter in the Marquee.

    Well done to everyone though!

  10. It was a tough race , but an absolutely beautiful scenic course, good organised race. I thought it was the best 10 mile race I've done so far, will be back again next year. A good cause and well done to all who were involved in organising the race.

  12. Challenging yes, (comparable to cobh 10m but hills more spread out so pressure was more evenly distributed, and oh did I enjoy those down hill bits!)but a very rewarding race, very well organised and it was made very clear at the beginning where the 10M and 11K were splitting, so it was difficult to see how people got confused. The locals were extremely friendly and helpful and I thought the food afterwards was plentiful and drinks were more than adequate. well done to all involved, I hope Suicide Aware did well and I will be back next year with a gang!
