Results of the Emer Casey 10 km road race...Sun 19th May 2013

A record 540 people turned out for this year's Emer Casey 10 km road race in Youghal, an increase of almost 12% on 2012. Considering that last year had been up 26% on the 2011 number and that there were even more events on this week as well, it's a remarkable number.

    A fantastic race as always, loved every minute of it. It's lovely the way he whole town gets involved.

    Absolutely fabulous run!! great organisation! fab support around the course from the locals! fantastic cause!The Casey family should be proud of themselves as I'm sure Emer is so proud of them!will definitely be back next year!

    really enjoyed todays race, weather forcast wann't great but as usual the sun shone for the emer casey. great music along the route (including the Youghal Pipe band)food and prizes at the finish line were fnatastic. congrats to all involved.

    Great event, great turnout and a great atmosphere with near perfect running conditions. As the previous poster mentioned, it's great the way the whole town supports this race.

    Two small niggles - One is traffic. 400+ runners finished inside the hour so surely it would be possible to close off the town centre street for that hour, or even less? The other is the start. Hard enough to organise with the crowd that was there but I thought that there were too many 'fun' runners amongst the 'racers' at the start that caused a bit of congestion. Just a suggestion but perhaps one or two time zones at the start might help to alleviate this. Seems to work fairly well for the Cheetah Run.

    Other than that, a great day out and a credit to the organisers.

    Very enjoyable run with good organisation & support. Nice downhill at the start but I'd gladly have given it up to avoid the climb to the finish!

    There was a bit of congestion at the start for sure, I had a look at the pics & spotted some of the people standing on the very start line came in well over 40 mins so not sure what they were doing there?

    Got in a bonus 4k jog cool-down back to the school afterwards although I'm sure there must be a quicker way there :)
