Well done on a very enjoyable race despite the wind and rain. Well stewarded and a farly fast course despite a few climbs.

ReplyDeleteIt was a good run out for what was a very damp and windy Sunday morning.
Considering that it was cutting through Kinsale between 11 and 12, there was always going to be some Sunday mass traffic but the traffic marshalling was well handled with no shortage of marshalls along the entire route. Anyone familiar with the Kinsale regatta 5mile route knows there is always some traffic from the bridge back towards town, this race however continued up the main Pier Road, a suggestion for next year might be to go along the back street where traffic is much lighter.
All in all it was good race in aid of 2 good causes. Hope it becomes a regular fixture on the calendar.

Good turn out considering the weather. It was well marshalled and plenty of guards also.
ReplyDeleteIts a good course if you want to run a PB but its a pity we were moved forward from one starting point to another as it left the course short.
Great spread afterwards and hopefully the charity and the club made some money
Very well organised and stewarded run on a great course for a good cause. Would recommend to all.
ReplyDeleteExcellent stewarding on a lovely course. Looking forward to running it again next year. According to a few with GPS watches the course was a little short of 5 miles so some people had PBs which couldn't really be counted as PBs. Getting the course officially measured would be a good addition for next year.
ReplyDeleteNice course. Very well marshalled. My GPS measured the distance at 4.94 miles. The steep downhill section at about 3.5 miles could have been treacherous especially considering the weather on the day.
