Results of the Cloyne 5k road race - Wed 8th Aug 2012

A record 493 runners turned out for this years Cloyne 5k road race, an increase of 24% on last year's figure of 396. Just two years ago, this race got 280 runners so that's an increase of 76% in that short period of time.

The mens race was won by Eddie O'Neill of Tinryland AC in Carlow in a time of 15:27. The first woman was Carmel Crowley of Bandon AC in a time of 18:22.

  3. My first ever 5k. Went around in just over half an hr. I'm hooked now. Loved it!

  4. They got the weather right this year (about time)!! :-) Great evening. Well organised, good course, great support and the spread afterwards would have fed the whole village. Definitely will be back next year and nice to see the number steadily increasing.

    John,unfortunatley I did not have someone to take photos for the blog on the night, however I did have a photographer attend that took photos for our local paper - The East Cork Journal and for our local magazine, the Midleton News. Both of the above are availabe in most supermarkets in Midleton. The number of the office that manages the above paper & magazine is 021/4630500 should anyone wish to purchase copies of the photos

  10. just want to say thank you to the person who helped me up when I slipped and fell in this race!!hope your time wasn't affected too much by your kind deed!fabulous run, great organisation and food after was brill! will definitely be back next year!
