This was also the first race in the Ballyhoura ACTIVE Series with 10 more to come between now and September. These will all be in the North Cork and East Limerick region. More info in an earlier post.

The mens race was won by Donal Coffey of Leevale AC in a time of 16:44. The womens race was won by Loretta Duggan in 20:45 who made the trip down from Co.Clare for the race.

The race wasn't without it's problems though with the timing equipment giving up the ghost after around 60 finishers! The organisers have the order of the finishers though and have put a rough set of results together HERE.

ReplyDeleteLovely to see such a big number of runners turn out in the Danny Byrne memorial race. Danny ran for C Team - Cancer Survivors in the 2009 Cork City Marathon Relay and sadly passed away just a few weeks before the 2010 event. May he rest in peace.
