Where were all the "designer runners" last night afraid of the northside or afraid to run two races back to back.
ReplyDeletedidnt even know it was on!!
ReplyDelete@anonymous - most cork runners would have run in tues marina Run - very bad timing having this race on the following day-
ReplyDeleteWhat is a "designer runner"?
ReplyDeleteSame as comment no2. the first i heard about it was when i saw the results. was it even advertised?
ReplyDeleteNobody knew about this it seems, as an ex Mon guy I would have loved to support but it would have been good to know about it - please advertise next year , did Running in Cork website know about it?
ReplyDeleteMust say also the timing is not great the night after the BHAA race
Keith S
Yeah, same as above. Would have run it if I had known about it AND if it was not immediately after the marina race.
ReplyDeleteTiming was off- and there was no real advertising done. Next year will be different- ;-]...
ReplyDeleteDreadful night to have a race. Just right around first Ballycotton, Cork County Championships, John Buckley 5k and cork marathon. Lots of people will do three races in a week. Is that hard enough for the "designer poster".
ReplyDeleteTheir was a previous race out of St Vincents GAA which used to get up to 200 people. That race hasn't been on for a few years.
I have no doubt there were plenty of designer runners on show up in Gurranabraher last night.
ReplyDeleteI ran this one last year and it was on in August I believe...I was shocked when i found out it was on Wed night. I never heard anything about it. As a Mon past pupil I would have also supported it...
ReplyDeleteMake a better effort next year lads, theres not many (if any) road races in the northside which is a shame so this is the one and only to do a bit of justice...
