The winner of the men's race was Alan O'Shea in a time of 25:00, way ahead of his nearest rival Dzintars of West Waterford AC in second place. The contest for third place was more closely contested with John Meade of St.Finbarr's AC edging it in 26:55 with two seconds to spare.
The first woman home was Sinéad Ní Chonchúir of Eagle AC in a time of 29:49 with Annmarie Holland just behind in 30:05. Karen Grant from Midleton was third with 33:05.

He guessed that the winning time for the first woman would be 29:50, just one second away from the actual time of 29:49. Aiden wins a free entry to the Bandon Half-Marathon and 10k on Saturday, the 12th of May. Pre-entries for that race close on the 7th of May.

ReplyDeleteJust back from your 5 mile road race, fantastic nite, well organised from start to finish. Catering was brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed the evening. From all the Ballintotis Runners and Joggers.
Have to say, this was a really well run race, and the course was fantastic. Ra a PB myself as did a lot of people I met.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event in Midleton last night. Weather perfect - cool, rain held off. Course ideal, relatively flat. Facilities in Midleton GAA afterwards top notch. And the food... what a fantastic spread of food. Credit to everyone associated with Midleton AC - the event was excellent, and enjoyable.

Fantastic race, fantastic food, and a PB to savour. Well done to all involved, great organisation even extended to getting the weather sorted in time for the warm up. My first tme doing the run, but I will definately return.

WELL done to all concerned with the midelton running club for agreat evenings event.. the race is always a hotly contested affair. from start to finish you gota be up with the pace.thank god it was a much better evening than last year so we all came back without getting drowned wet.. the food and drinks were superb first class.well done to all the catering people who worked so hard to put on such a delightful spread of food..for john cashman edmund o sullivan danny mac and all the hard workin skins of midelton ac.you have done yourselves proud.. fair play well done..

It is hard to stop headphones. Some people can't run without them. Non club runners are used to heading out on their own with a bit of music and feel they cannot survive without it. We all know why they are banned but they are a crutch for some runners.
