ReplyDeleteHey John,
ReplyDeleteIt was my first time doing Ballycotton and I had a ball.A really great day and so well organised...One small thing J...am I the only only one to recieve a special "Upside down" printed mug or have the organisers got a serious issue ??? I hope not, as they dont deserve the hassle...
Well done all involved...
My first time running and certainly won't be my last all going well. Loved it! Went under 70 for first time which was a big bonus. Some events make all te training worthwhile and Ballycotton 10 is one of them. Well done to all. So manu people supported the running of this event and deservve a big pat on the back.
ReplyDeleteFantastic day and well organised as usual. My net and gross time are exactly the same and I am certainly not an elite runner so wasn't up the front, can this be rectified?
ReplyDeleteApart from that well done to all involved
Mine was also the same..hopefully it can be rectified
ReplyDeleteme 2 both my times the same and this was not the case
ReplyDeleteMaria McCambridge blew my time estimate out of the water. Well done.
ReplyDeleteResults are still provisional. The 5 mile splits still have to be added. Might be cleared up in the final results? We'll have to wait and see.
ReplyDeletecongrats to all who ran and those who organised it and all others who were involved in the success of the day.Remember all involved are volunteers so mistakes can and do happen.Unable to run anymore due to knee problems but did have the pleasure of collecting 10 mugs.WELL DONE to all. J C.
ReplyDeleteAnother day to remember!! I ran with my wife for the first time, a little piece of magic right there!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the whole day can't fault anything ps it was my 25th race
ReplyDeleteBoth my times net and gross the same aswell??
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed BC 10 this year again after an injury break last year ...thought the wind was particularly tough heading out between 3 and 6. great organisation and support as always. Lets hope they can recify the timing as it is definately 70 seconds out for me
ReplyDeleteA big thanks to you John !
ReplyDeleteIt was my first time running Ballycotton and all of your updates on what to do and expect were invaluable and contributed hugely to my enjoyment of the buildup and race day itself.
There was an ambulance at the end of the race coming in and out of the finish area around the Hour and fifteen minute mark. Do you know if that person is ok? was it anything serious? I hope not. Well done to all who took part.
ReplyDeleteThe ambulance mentioned was responding to an unrelated call (an elderly local person was taken to hospital).
ReplyDeleteAlso a reminder...in the results, click on your name to get your 5 mile split. For those of you that mentioned incorrect chip times, see what it is like when you do that as well.
Another success story for the Ballycotton 10. Would love more music in the centre loop.Congratulations to the organisers.Best cuppa and ham sambos in Ireland!
ReplyDeleteI didn't really believe the hype of this race that was until I actually ran it, There's just something about Ballycotton it has this quiet charisma that draws you in I thought the locals were extremely friendly and the crowds of supporters that were on hand throughout the race was a most welcome boost, definitely a day I'll remember forever more.
ReplyDeletedid ballycotton 10 yesterday for the 7th time, i dont know what is so special about it, but i have to do it every year since i started running. but yesterday just reminded me why, it is just the complete race, it has it all. The 2 car parks above the town have made things very easy , as the bus from garryvoe is the only turn off.well done to john walsh and all the crew. see u next year
ReplyDeleteHi John, this was my first time running the Ballycotton ten and I am still on a high after the day. The positive energy and fantastic comraderie felt throughout the day was so uplifting. At times throughout the run I felt as if my legs were not carrying me, I was just being swept along by a current of runners alongside of me, in front of me and behind me. I have the bug now....cant wait for next year!!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing race, my favourite 10miles by far, Organisation fantastic as well, worth ever bit of the travel from a " Purbeck Runner"
ReplyDeleteMy first time running down in this part of the Country but not my last really enjoyed it great event in Beautiful location.
ReplyDeleteGreat day, great support, thanks to all the organisers and the whole community of Ballycotton for helping make it such a memorable day, everyone young and old were out supporting, handing out water, cleaning up afterwards etc. There was a great sense of community and comradery both on and off the course :) Looking fwd to 2013 :)
ReplyDeleteAny more photos of last sundays Ballycotton 10???? Usually the finish line photos are available very soon after the race but so far I haven't seen anything??
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know about this...thanks
hi john
ReplyDeletemy times are sorted now, cheers
We had such a wonderful day at the Ballycotton race on Sunday. It was amazing. The people organising it must have worked so hard - it was a dream. The crowd were fantastic. They must surely have raw throats still! The cup of tea at the end was wonderful and the mars bar gratefully recieved! It was the first time we (Dad, Mum and Son) had ever run in the same race and what a one to do it in. Thank you so much, the mugs will be displayed with pride and fondness.
ReplyDeletemine and several more chip times still not shown can this be rectified or explained why this happened thanks
ReplyDeleteNet and Gross times still the same for my time even though there was almost 2 minutes on the clock by the time I passed the start line. Do you think this can be rectified or were the times not recorded and ao unrecoverable?
ReplyDeleteHi just wondering were there any finishline photos at ballycotton this year 2012 ? dont seem to see any in google or finishlinephotography this year ?
