It's that time of year again when club runners dust off the spikes and hit the fields. The Cork County Novice, Under 23 and Masters Cross Country race will take place in Conna, nw Cork on Sunday, the 9th of October at 12 noon. This is open to club athletes only and the entries closed last Wednesday.
Getting there.....For anyone not sure, you can get to Conna easily enough and you don't have to pay the toll on the motorway.
If you are coming from the south....turn off the motorway at Watergrasshill...go through the village....and take the old main road north. Just after you pass over a bridge over the motorway, you go through a small roundabout and then down a long hill. On a long sweeping bend, take the right....as per photo. This is just before you enter Rathcormac.
About 600 metres later after a bad bend, take the left for Conna which is about another 12 kms.
If you are coming from the north, you have the option of going through Fermoy....then through Rathcormac and take the left after the town. On a Sunday morning, there isn't much to be gained by paying the motorway toll.
