  2. My entry form went off first thing Weds morn so fingers crossed now. First time entrant (I hope), but I'm just wondering, can any folk who have ran this before explain to me, just why this race can manage to attract such vast numbers? Apologies in advance if I am asking a silly question, but it's baffling me. Is it just the name and long standing nature of the event?

  5. Johnny in Cobh......As long as your club is an AAI registered one and your letter arrives ok then you are as good as in.

Anon 1....it looks like it was the quickest closing yet.

Pat....There are probably numerous reasons as to why it is so popular...
    1) The hype about it attracts people and the fact that the entries are restricted seems to attract even more!
    2) Well established race that is known the lenght of the country.
    3) It has a very high profile so that many people who would not normally run will have heard of it. Considering the size of Cork City, there are more than enough entries from there alone to swell the numbers.

...and Ballycotton just happens to be a nice spot with scenic views out over the bay.
