Sugary soft drinks lead to diabetes, research finds...

There was a piece in an online newspaper recently about drinking too many soft drinks. They say....."Drinking sugar-sweetened soft drinks has been linked to an increase in new cases of diabetes and heart disease."

"More people now drink soft, sport and fruit drinks daily, and the increase has led to thousands more diabetes and heart disease cases over the past decade, according to research presented to the American Heart Association's annual conference."

So if you are training away and taking a lot of sports drinks and gels, it might be worth remembering that there is a lot to be said for plain old H2O.
