If they are getting a fiver off every runner , just do the maths . Nearly all BHAA races have nearly 400 runners running . As I ran the race, albeit slowly, not being anywhere near the elite athletes, but rather a red faced plodder, I thought a custard slice would have been a nice reward at the end. There were loads of non runners with plates of half eaten cakes. How can one justify spectators eating a plateful of sandwiches when they've probably had their dinner not two hours before?
