The London Marathon handed out a few hundred thousand of these seaweed based 'pods' containing a sports drink. They are both edible and biodegradeable ... NOTPLA is the name of the company that provided the alternative to plastic cups/bottles. Lovely scenic course. Did anyone else notice that the mile markers were in completely the wrong places though? I had 9.3 miles done on my watch when I passed the 10 mile mark for example. It is really impossible to run and drink out of a cup. Also not everywhere bins for the cups so these were blown around. They were picking litter a day after, I can imagine there are still quit a few plastic cups out in the open.
