The Beast of Beara 21km trail race was held in Allihies in West Cork on Sat 19th July 2025 with 339 runners taking part, a jump of 44% on the inaugural race in 2024.
The big challenge for any running event near the end of the Beara Peninsula is how to attract enough people? Outside of the local runners, how do you convince people from large population centres further away to make the long journey down?
In that light and especially considering it was a damp day, getting 339 runners to take part in a running event in Allihies is really good.
