The womens race over 2k had a field of 40 runners and was won by Eadaoin O'Neill of East Cork AC in 7:44. In nearly all road championships, the men outnumber the women by a large magin, 2:1 might be a typical ratio. In this particular case, there were more women than men which is unusual. Perhaps it's a sign of the current trend in running?

ReplyDeleteanother correction!!!,this is the hardest 5 miler in Cork!,not the new glanmire race,five tough hills in 5 miles!.clashmore in waterford would be a close 2nd although thats a different county!!
