Moves are afoot to set up a new 2k junior parkrun in St Mary's Health Campus on the north side of Cork City. For those of you who might be unaware of where that this, it is the site of the Orthopaedic Hospital near Hollyhill.

For this to happen however, support needs to come from the local community to help establish it.

Update 24th Sept 2019... They are still looking for more volunteers to help establish this junior parkrun for 4 to 14 year olds. Junior parkruns are held nationwide on Sunday mornings at 9:30am and are completely free.

See the message below....

"Happy to report that parkrun have gotten permission to use St Mary's Health Campus on the north side of the city as the site for a potential new junior parkrun. Junior parkruns are for children aged 4 to 14 years and are 2k long. There has been a junior event at Cobh junior parkrun since May '18 and the most recent one started at Ballincollig Regional junior parkrun in June this year (shown in the pic).

For the new event, a volunteer core group along with an Event Director(s) are needed. If you're interested in being part of the group then please send an email to john.kissane (at) parkrun.com & we'll be back in touch once there are enough people to get the ball rolling. Please share this message!"

If you want this to happen, then get in touch with them.
