Doneraile 10km Race Day Instructions

Race Day Instructions:
We are very excited to welcome you all to Doneraile on June 8th.

T-shirt and number pick ups will be in the Community Centre which is located just across from Centra on the main street on Friday from 5.30 to 7.30pm and from 9.00 till 10.30am again on Saturday morning. Race will start at 11am sharp!! The Community Hall is only minutes away from the start line.

Doneraile GAA have kindly opened their grounds to accommodate all cars that are travelling to our race Saturday morning, we will ask that you car pool where possible please. The grounds will be marshalled so please follow instruction. The grounds will open at 9am where there is changing, showering and toilet facilities also. Directions to the GAA grounds will be sign posted and we will also have one of our stewards on the road giving directions. It is only a few minutes walk from the town which is ideal as it is on route to the community centre and the start line.

We are starting just above the top Park Gates where we will be going down towards the town, (WATCH YOUR FOOTING AS THERE IS A SPEED BUMP HERE ) turning up right just after Londis onto Convent Road, there is a nice downhill once you pass the old primary school and we will be turning left at Bogs Cross, we will be following the road right around until we come to Cornahinch Cross, it is vital you follow stewards instructions here at this point as there will be no road closures on the day, but traffic will be delayed where needed. From here we will be running back into the town where again there will be 3 more speed bumps and back near our start line to face our beautiful park, route in the park is stewarded and once again please respect and follow all stewards instructions.

We will have 2 water stations on route, first water station is at approx 2.5 km and second water station will be at 6km mark. These will be stocked with jellies and water bottles.
Please be mindful of our beautiful town and park when it comes to littering please. We will have areas for bottle disposal on the route. There will be more water and fruit at the finish line we will also have Redbull there on the day and they will be handing out cans to help refuel the body. Once you have crossed the finish line please make your way towards Doneraile Court House to collect your medal this also helps to keep the finish line clear for other runners that will be coming in behind you.
Post race refreshments will be happening back in the Community Centre where also prize giving will take place aswell, there will be sandwiches, tea, coffee, buns, cake etc.

The course is AAI measured, fully insured and marshalled. We will have medical personnel on route (hopefully they won't be needed )

Looking forward to seeing you all on the 8th!!
