2019 Dublin Marathon sells out

On Monday the 10th of December 2018, the last of the 20,000 entries were sold for the next Dublin marathon at the end of October 2019. It's pretty amazing really considering how far away it is.

Looking back at earlier posts on the blog, the 2018 race sold out at the end of May 2018 and the 2017 race sold out on the 12th of July.

The big difference now is that before, the race was selling out around the time people might start think about doing a training plan. Now it's almost 11 months in advance which seems way off into the future. It's very likely that the number of 'no shows' will rise as well as people get swept up in the panic to enter and never turn up on the day.

What will it be next year? Will it sell out in November?

There is a transfer window for those with entries but I think it is pretty early in 2018.
