Cork runners take top spots at the Clonmel Half-Marathon



Well done to Cork runners Michael Herlihy of North Cork AC and Aoife Cooke of Youghal AC who were the first man and woman home in this years Clonmel Half-Marathon on Sun 20th Aug 2017.

As you can see from the numbers in the chart above, this race is going from strength to strength and is testament to all the work that Clonmel AC put into it.

Very well organised race. Toughish course but enjoyable. Enjoyed the feed afterwards too :-)

was the course marked short?i was 15 seconds before I crossed the line and started my watch straight away but the garmin showed the course was 13.09, mile markers were out in places too

Disappointing That 121 people never turned up on the day I'm sure there were many who would have liked to have taken part

All the Clonmel AC races are measured by Jones Counter so spot on. You should be aware of the limitations of GPS watches. They don't work under trees and they cut corners.

Mine was short also but think it was because the start gun caught me out, I've done it twice before in Clonmel and it was bang on. Boys running beside me beeped on every mile.

Can't stress enough how good this half is, pound for pound it's my favourite in the Munster region. It's not as fast as Charleville but for some reason I enjoy this more.

As per usual a fantastic run event by Clonmel AC. unreal value for €25, T-shirt, great medal (with Dr Pat on it), great goodie bag with stuff other than flyers and fantastic feed after.. could have done with more cakes, but then again i did have 3 cakes so any more and i would have to run the race a 2nd time!!
roll on next year.

This is a fantastic event. So well organised. Tough course but enjoyable. Great support around the course. lots of water stop. Top/medal and goodie bag was excellent value.. Well done Clonmel AC.
